What Is Scrip or “Angel Bucks”? |

| Scrip is a term that means “substitute money”. Our scrip program is called "Angel Bucks". When you purchase Angel Bucks, you’re purchasing gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use Angel Bucks to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for St. Michael School. | |||

How can Angel Bucks generate revenue for St. Michael School and reduce your tuition cost? |

| An organization called Great Lakes Scrip Center acts on behalf of churches, schools and other non-profit organizations to purchase large amounts of gift cards from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the gift cards are purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. St. Michael's buys the cards from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to our families for full face value. The discount - from two to fifteen percent or more – is the school's revenue. You can choose to participate in the tuition rebate portion of this program on your Enrollment Form. If you choose to participate, 30% of the "discount" or contribution your purchases create, will be applied to your tuition the FOLLOWING school year. If you decline this option, 100% of the discount will go to the school. *If you do not attend St. Michael School the following year, 100% of the discount you generated defaults back to the school. | |||

| Gift Card programs are a popular fundraiser because families don’t have to sell anything. Family members produce revenue by making regular household purchases they would make anyway. Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with Angel Bucks. | |||
