Angel Bucks Frequently Asked Questions
What are Angel Bucks or
“Scrip”?
Scrip is a term that means
"substitute money." When families purchase Angel Bucks from St.
Michael School, they're purchasing gift certificates and pre-paid cards
that can be used just like cash. You can use Scrip to purchase everyday
household items like food, clothing, gasoline and entertainment.
Through your shopping, you are earning revenue for
St. Michael School and you may also choose to reduce your tuition.
Angel Bucks is a program run by parent volunteers. Please feel

with any suggestions.
How does Scrip generate revenue
for St. Michael School?
Participating retailers agree to
sell gift certificates to St. Michael School at a discount. Families buy
the certificates from the school and redeem the certificates for full
face value. Then, St. Michael’s keeps the difference in the revenue. The
percentage of profit returned to St. Michael’s varies from two to 17
percent depending on the retailer. The revenue returned to St. Michael
School from the retails will be used to benefit the school in areas such
as new technology, building projects and extra curricular activities, as
well as additional areas still to be identified. Your children
will be the ultimate beneficiaries!
How can my family participate
in the Tuition Rebate Option of Angel Bucks?
You can choose to participate in
the tuition rebate option on your Enrollment Form. If you choose
to participate, 30% of the contribution raised by your family's
purchases will be directed back towards your tuition for the FOLLOWING
school year. All of your purchases and the corresponding discounts
that each retailer offers are stored in a software program purchased by
the school. You will receive a report detailing your purchases in
January and May. Watch for weekly Angel Bucks email announcing
extra discounts from the retailers to maximize the discounts you
receive!
How many retailers are involved
in the Saint Albert Scrip program?
More than 800 retailers are
involved in the program. A list of retailers is available on the school web site.
How do I sign up?
You must complete an Enrollment Form/Waiver
of responsibility and return it to the school. On this form, you
must indicate if you intend to participate in the Tuition Rebate Option.
If no election is made, 100% of the contribution you raise will default
to the school. This form is available on this site.
Is there a fee to participate
in the program?
There are no membership or
application fees. You simply complete the enrollment application and
start ordering! You only pay St. Michael’s for the certificates
you order.
How do I order Angel Bucks?
You may place your order for
Angel Bucks by filling out the order form each week in the special Angel Bucks
Family Folder contained within the Wednesday folder. You must
return this folder by Thursday at 9 AM in order to receive the Angel
Bucks in the following week’s Wednesday folder. Grocery, gas,
restaurant, pharmacy and other retailers' cards are available in-stock
at the front desk during school hours.
Is there a minimum amount of
certificates that I have to order?
A minimum order amount is only required when paying with a credit card.
This $250 credit card purchase is required to help cover the transaction
fees the credit card companies charge the school.
In some cases, a retailer's discount is low enough that processing fees
may cancel it out. Choose your retailers wisely and please keep
this in mind when selecting your payment method.
Do I have to order every week?
There are no requirements for
ordering. You can order as frequently or infrequently as you wish.
Remember, lots of great cards are available throughout the school year,
in-stock, at the front desk during school hours. Earn money for
the school and towards tuition costs while shopping, dining and driving
by paying with Angel Bucks! |
